About AE Medical Billing

With a Master's Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Health Care Administration, Mr. Ardevela has been able to establish AE & Associates, LLC, one of the most successful auditing and staffing firms for hospitals, medical groups, physicians, and other types of healthcare organizations in Southern California and various parts of the nation since 2000. Trained as a Physician in the Philippines, Mr. Ardevela has over 34 years of coding and auditing experience. He is a member of American Medical Billing Association (AMBA) and has multiple Medical Coding credentials issued by both American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). He does rebuttal and appeal of RAC audited and managed care hospital audits. He provides education for medical coding, in-service seminar to all his employees and others for continuing education. Through the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS), he is a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) and he has conducted numerous CDI seminars.

For more than 20 years, I have worked in single and multi-specialty practices, primary care, surgical groups, laboratory and medical centers. I have led with a very hands-on approach to the daily operations of these organizations and has developed proven strategies in the management of billing, personnel, budgeting, marketing, contracting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and strategic planning. I have worked with practices ranging from solo practitioners to groups of physicians and has used that experience to develop strategies that are key to the billing operations.

Taught and mentored by Arnold, Jonathan is a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC). He has experience in various types of medical coding including Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) and Risk Adjustment, Professional Fee and ER Professional Coding. Jonathan currently plays an active role in training, instructing and gives technical support to new medical coders as appropriate and provides audits, giving a second level review of assigned codes while ensuring the records are coded in time frames that will assure compliance with regulatory requirements. Jonathan also has experience working in the medical field as a Physical Therapist Aide. With a degree in Kinesiology, he additionally has extensive research experience and his work has been published in the International Journal of Exercise Science.
